Pregnancy Update: my First Trimester

So I found out I was pregnant with my fourth sweet little baby around 4-6 weeks. I was so shocked and excited at the same time. I have always wanted a larger family so I can not wait to welcome this blessing into the world!

Nausea, Food Aversions and Cravings have definitely been a struggle!

I felt pretty good for the most part. Then around week 8 I started to feel nauseous but definitely not crippling nausea or anything. It was more like underlying I could get real nauseous if I smell the wrong smell or something like that.

However, I have had some serious aversions to food, smells and some objects (yes, I know it sounds crazy).

I’ve had aversions with all of my pregnancies but this one has been by far the most intense when it comes to aversions and cravings.

Whenever I have a craving for something it is intense and any and every other food, besides what I am craving, makes me feel nauseous.

But the craziest aversion had definitely been towards my living room coffee table. I painted it while I was pregnant and didn’t know it yet. And I think the smell has just stuck in my brain and made it almost impossible for me to even look at or touch it because I start to get nauseous.

I’ve even considered selling it because I can’t even stand to look at it because it make me want to vom. So, that’s been fun…

Some of the cravings I have had are Japanese food, the spicy chicken sandwich and strawberry milkshake from Chick-Fil-A, and ice cream cake. And honestly a lot of other things that will just pop into my head daily.

A few weeks ago I drove 1 hour round trip to get Japanese food from this particular restaurant for dinner. A bit extreme but when the craving hits there is seriously very few options lol.

With that being said though, I have not been giving into every single one. Or I will try to find healthier alternatives to some or make them a bit healthier at home. For example instead of a milkshake I will make a healthy strawberry smoothie or something like that.

Fatigue has been real!

One other thing that has been pretty consistent so far is fatigue. I have been so tired. I’m sure it is a combination of growing a human and just doing all the daily task I have as a stay at home mom and homeschooling mom.

But by the end of the day I am just worn out. Most of the time I go to bed right after I put the boys to bed.

But with all of that being said I am welcoming the second trimester and can not wait to hold this precious baby so soon!

I honestly can’t believe the first trimester is over! It is crazy to me how with your first pregnancy when someone asks you how far along you are you can just say it without thinking and doing the math because you are counting down the days til you get to hold your sweet baby.

However when it is your 3rd+ pregnancy you have to think about it for a minutes (or at least I have to) when someone asks. And it isn’t because you aren’t just as excited or anything like that. It is just because you have two other kids you have to think about and keep up with.

It is definitely a different pace of life but I would not trade a moment of it for anything!
